We stayed almost two weeks there and wished we could have stayed longer! Jamie and his girlfriend are extremely nice and helpful, The cottages are perfectly designed, their volumes are arranged and furnished in a way that you never feel you are in a small place. Nice pool, nice dogs, nice area between Parkhurst and Linden. Victory Park mall is literally just around the corner with all the Pick and Pay, drugstores or Woolworth one needs. 15 minutes from centre Sandton and about 30 minutes away from Tambo airport. We definitely warmly recommend this place for short, mid or long term stays as we had a great time there. (A plus would be for a maid to come and clean the floors/dishes more than once a week but most people can do without…)

All I can say is, I have travelled a lot of places around South Africa, but moonflower was far the best. Jamie the owner was fantastic, the house was clean and warm, and it definitely felt like home away from home. Next time I’m in Jhb I know there to stay.

It was a wonderful experience from the 1st day that I was there. Quiet, clean and friendly environment. It is within walking distance to the shops and a gym. I will recommend to friends and family. It has a nice warm atmosphere.

I stayed at this cottage first during my internship. Because i liked this place so much, i decided to stay longer during my stay in Johannesburg. The location is perfect (Greenside and Parkhurst are very close), shopping facilities and gym are just across the street. The park just around the corner is very nice and safe. The pets are lovely and the owner is helpful anytime, even if he goes on holidays there is a trustful and reliable contact during that time.
This is a perfect place for families as well as single business people.

The cottage was nice & big equipped with own kitchen, living room en suite with a lazy comfy couch, a large TV & a queen-sized bedroom with a spacious built-in cabinets a sliding door that leads to a balcony patio of your own bedroom. Very peaceful & relaxing seems like we’re sleeping in our own bedroom at home. Very homey indeed!
From our cottage is overlooking to a well maintained swimming pool which is surrounded by the rest of the cottages. Owners were so friendly & really looked after to their guests needs. Well secured area, located in a well secured community & an easy 5 mins walk to the nearest Pick & Pay grocery.

I can’t believe it has taken me this long to write a review about our stay at Moonflower Cottages.
We had just finished a 3 week cape town to Vic Falls Safari when we headed down to Johannesburg for a 3 day stay prior to our flight home. The accommodations were great.
A very peaceful and restful stop. Now the things that was special! You can walk from Jamie’s to a little mall a few blocks away and get all your basic items. Jamie also sent us to the best restaurants and night spots around. Just a fantastic visit, and as others have mentioned they create a very cordial and relaxed atmosphere. If I ever return to SA this is a place I will want to stay again!

Stayed at Moonflower Cottages for a week during the 2010 World Cup. Jamie was an outstanding host during our stay. Extremely welcoming, accommodating and helpful when finding places to visit in the city. The cottages are very well maintained and secure, located in a nice part of Joburg. I highly endorse the property and the owner. We had a fabulous experience. The place is a gem. We stayed in the apartment above the garage.

Stayed at the Moonflower Cottages during a trip to the World Cup in South Africa for 6 days. Liked it so much that I returned for a second visit later on. Had a room in a cottage separate from the main house – very spacious with modern on -suite bathroom and some kitchen facilities. Jamie the owner is very friendly and helpful and spent quite a while printing of maps and tourist information for me from the internet. Strongly recommend a visit to the Gold Reef theme park where you can go 700m underground in an old gold mine.
